Dry Needling

Dry needling technique is a procedure where small acupuncture needles are inserted into skin and muscle to alleviate myofascial hypertonicity or “trigger points.” Dry needling technique dates back to the 1960’s when Dr. Janet Travell MD, the female physician to president John F. Kennedy, discovered that implementing a dry needling technique helped JFK with his lower back pain. Throughout the years, research along with case studies, have proven dry needling to be a very safe and effective treatment for patients suffering from various muscular conditions.
